Spotlight on The McIlquham Sisters
[back]
I would like to take this time to introduce you to two upcoming riding stars at Mystic Valley Hunt Club. First I would like to introduce and tell you about Danielle Rae McIlquham.
Danielle is now 6 years old, and has been showing horses in
lead line, and has received year-end awards from the CHJA and CHSA in 2004 and
in 2005. Danielle loves to ride and takes lessons on one of Mystic Valley’s
favorite ponies, Ebony. Ebony however has recently been sold, and now Danielle
is riding Coco Puff, another of Mystic Valley’s well loved ponies. Danielle
loves to go to horse shows, but is not so fond of getting up so early in the
morning on show days, then having to wait a long time at the shows. Danielle
takes one riding lesson a week, and is taking an extra ride over the summer with one of
her barn friends, Allison Jordan. Danielle is proud of how well she posts in the
trot, and is strong enough not to have to hang on. Danielle is a joy to teach.
Look for her to move up to the Walk Trot Division next season.
I next want to introduce Allyssa Brooke McIlquham, Danielle’s sister. Allyssa just turned four, and cannot wait to start showing like her bigger sister. Allyssa loves to ride Coco Puff. She loves to trot, and is doing a nice job learning how to post and develop riding legs. Allyssa has been riding for about 9-months, and takes lessons once a week. Allyssa is learning it takes a lot of muscle to hang on in the trot, but she sure tries hard. Allyssa looks forward to showing, and hope to win some yellow and green ribbons because she thinks those colors are the prettiest. Look for Allyssa to be showing in Leadline.
I hope you have enjoyed meeting some of our little, but upcoming riders at Mystic Valley. See you all at the next horse show.
Miss Robin
